There are many intimate aids, but there is only one Whoop·de·doo. It began as my graduation project. A friend suggested the topic, and it immediately felt meaningful to me: I wanted to take erotic aids out of the cheap and vulgar environment they were often associated with. I wanted to show women and men alike that it is possible to own an intimate product without feeling ashamed of it. That it can be beautiful, high-quality, and natural. At the same time, after my bachelor’s project - a tram designed for Prague, I felt the need to create something smaller, something closer to reality and actual production.

After defending my diploma project, I received the National Student Design Award. This was followed by a wave of media attention and, with it, a strong sense of responsibility, the feeling that I had to take the project further. I met with many potential investors, but our values often differed. In the end, I decided to start on my own, using my personal savings. I set three fundamental principles: to manufacture honestly, ethically, and sustainably in the Czech Republic; to achieve the highest possible quality; and to produce in quantities that would not unnecessarily overwhelm the world. After nine months, it worked. Yes, I traveled across half the country, but eventually I managed to build a stable network of local manufacturers with whom I maintain long-term, trusted relationships.

In 2011, the Venus balls were born, and women immediately fell in love with them. Not only women, doctors responded very positively as well, and many of them I still collaborate with today. The balls are exceptional for strengthening the pelvic floor and have proven effects, such as helping to reduce incontinence and increase libido. At the time, I had no idea that this product would set the direction of my life for the next fourteen years.

Whoop·de·doo gradually grew, with new products added and new experience gained along the way. I personally oversee every stage of development and production, which means I know exactly what I am offering to my customers. All of our products are manufactured locally from certified, durable materials, under conditions that are safe and fair for everyone involved.

With the vibrator, I experienced the complete development process, including electronics, and also launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, which succeeded. Two years after the Venus balls, a vibrator was born that truly has no competition. It is fully encased in silicone, has three motors, is flexible and waterproof, and when you hold it in your hand, the entire body vibrates. I had never seen anything like it before.

In 2020, I introduced the menstrual cup. None of the cups on the market suited me, even though I felt the concept itself was brilliant, so we truly refined it. All of our ambassadors tested it, and I was incredibly happy when overwhelmingly positive reviews started coming in such as “finally a cup that really works” or “the color is beautiful and stays the same for years.”

Today, I am also proud of our Iconic Blue Edition and of our lubricant, which we developed over the course of approximately six months. I am almost addicted to its scent, and above all, it has an excellent consistency. This entire project, this brand, this company, this journey, has taught me how to see things through from design to execution, how to lead people, run a company, plan, manage finances, and handle crisis situations. Across all areas, from manufacturing to marketing and sales. I never imagined how much work it would take, but I am grateful for everything that has been achieved.

We also focus on education and awareness. We publish a blog, produce the podcast Přiznej barvu (Show Your Colour), and most recently addressed the topic of menstrual poverty. Our campaign supported more than 530 women in need.

I am proud of our brand manual as well, which has been ranked among the top references and featured in Visualbook. Perhaps this is also reflected in the number of awards we have received, not only for design.

The brand has great potential, and I have many more plans ahead. I believe that in the near future I will find the right partner to take it further. Until then, our products are available at whoopdedoo.love or on my personal website.

One of the things I love about Whoop·de·doo is the sense of humor that is always present. I believe humor is something design sometimes lacks. That’s why I’m happy it has resonated with so many people and that they truly love it. Whoop·de·doo has also shown me how powerful design can be, and how deeply it can shape people’s perceptions. For that, I am grateful.
